PRIVACY POLICY
This is the Privacy Policy ("Policy") of MIDPP.com.
MIDPP.com is an on-line service that enables deferred presentment service transactions licensees to comply with the State of Michigan Deferred Presentment Service Transactions Act ("Act") passed in the 2005 Legislative Session. The State of Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services ("DIFS") requires the use of a statewide common database to validate consumer eligibility using this service pursuant to the Act and associated rules promulgated by DIFS.
Privacy and security are our highest priority - ensuring electronic access to state regulatory information and services while maintaining privacy is a guiding principle of our program. Personal data in our possession is maintained and used in ways that respect individual privacy. We educate our employees about the importance of protecting personal information and privacy, and only authorized employees have access to personal information.
The purpose of this Policy is to notify you of:
1. What personally identifiable information is collected through our web site;
2. The organization collecting the information;
3. How the information is used;
4. With whom the information may be shared;
5. The kind of security procedures that are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control;
6. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.
If you fill out the "Contact Us" form, your name and other identifying information will not be sold or shared with any person or organization. Your e-mail address or telephone number may be used by authorized employees to contact you concerning your comments, questions or complaints.
When you enter a deferred presentment transaction into the database, including the name, phone number, social security number and other personal information of your customers, we use this information to help licensed Lenders in the State of Michigan determine their eligibility to enter into a deferred presentment services transaction with a consumer in compliance with the Act.
The identifying information contained in the database for Lenders is confidential and exempt from public disclosure. The information in the database may be accessed to fulfill requirements pursuant to the Act and may be accessed by DIFS for regulatory purposes consistent with Michigan Laws. Catalis may also access the information for purposes of maintaining the database and to provide statistical information about the program.
We do not sell or rent information to third parties for marketing programs or for any other purpose.
At the direction of a Lender (when the "Submit" button is clicked), the information provided to us will be processed through the MIDPP.com system and the appropriate response will be returned to the Lender. All of the Lenders in our network operate under federal and/or state laws and regulations. MIDPP.com will treat information sent indirectly through a Lender in the same manner it treats the information you submit directly through the website.
MIDPP.com has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Catalis uses the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits to safeguard your sensitive personal information during on-line transactions. Using this widely accepted form of encryption, your transaction is secured from your personal computer to the Catalis computers processing your request. Once your information reaches us, it resides on a database that is heavily protected. This method protects personal information such as Social Security Number, residential address and phone number, and business information including financial statements and reports. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with state and federal regulations to guard your information. Our servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are NOT directly connected to the Internet, so your confidential information is available only to authorized computers. Most importantly, this also protects your financial payment information such as credit card and checking account numbers.
Only authorized employees are permitted to access your information. Authorized employees have been trained on how to handle information properly and are subject to strict limitations and guidelines in the handling of that information.
This notice should not be construed in any way as guaranteeing, or warranting as fail proof, the security of information exchanged via Catalis web sites.
Any changes to our privacy promise will be communicated through the MIDPP.com web site at least 30 days in advance of implementation. Information collected before changes are made will be secured according to the privacy policy in effect prior to the change.
